What to expect from an Ancestral Lineage Healing Retreat in Palermo?
Ancestral lineage healing emphasises learning to relate directly with one’s recent and more ancient blood ancestors for personal, family, and cultural healing. Coming into direct relationship with your ancestors can help to transform intergenerational toxins, re-establish obscured blessings, improve relationships with the living, and encourage health, self-esteem, and clarity of life purpose.
This approach to ancestral healing emphasises psychological and ritual safety, participants’ ability to connect directly with their own wise and kind ancestors, and the intersection of personal healing with larger cultural and historical troubles.
Attendees can expect to learn a lifelong framework for navigating the relationship between the living and the dead, including ways to enjoy healthy connection with beloved family after their death. Our shared time in circle will be a blend of teaching, direct visioning and connection with the ancestors. Group discussion, and other elements of ancestor-focused ritual (e.g., offering practice, ritual grieving, song, prayer) centers on participants connecting and partnering with ancestral guides to support any among their lineage dead still in need of assistance.
The full 5-day residential retreat is facilitated by Dr Foor and six experienced practitioners of ancestral lineage healing work. Participants can expect an in-depth experience and should be personally well resourced. There are no prerequisites, however, prior experience with ritual and personal healing are helpful. Those new to ancestor work, adoptees, and folks with a tough experience of family are all warmly welcome.

A little more about Daniel...
Daniel is the child of early settler colonialists to North America, largely from England and Germany, and he is a white, cis-gendered, able-bodied, U.S. citizen deeply committed to historical honesty, reckoning with unpaid ancestral debts, and cultural healing with respect to race, class, gender, American imperialism, and other ways in which the Earth longs for better from the human folk.
Daniel’s training draws from his experience in diverse lineages of ritual arts; his academic work as doctor of psychology; his clinical training as a psychotherapist; the lessons of family, marriage, and parenting; his time as a student of language and culture in the Czech Republic, Mexico, Ecuador, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, and Spain; and nearly 30 years of implementing the teachings of Earth and ancestor reverence in his personal life.
Important ritual influences include the Northern European Pagan traditions of his blood ancestors, Islamic Sufism, Mahayana Buddhism, Buryat Mongol shamanism, Native North American ways (especially Lakota altar and the Native American Church), and West African Ifá/Òrìsà tradition. Daniel does not presume to represent these lineages of practice beyond any permissions extended by his teachers, and his offerings are based on cross-cultural aspects of Earth and ancestor reverence.

Why Palermo?
Palermo is a city in Southern Italy and the capital of both the autonomous region of Sicily. The city is renowned for its history, culture, architecture, and gastronomy and is over 2,700 years old. Palermo is located in the northwest of the island of Sicily, a land that has been invaded and occupied by the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, and various others over the last millenia under the Kingdom of Sicily before being politically united with Italy in 1860.
Each culture has left its mark, contributing to the rich and diverse personality that is now Palermo.
The retreat will be based in the Grand Hotel Piazza Borsa in the old city of Palermo. The building has a long history, originally serving as a monastery and also as the former home of the stock exchange in Sicily. Over the centuries, the hotel has become a beautiful, modern hotel that, like Palermo itself, retains connection to its past while showcasing rich and varied history.
Given the diverse history of Palermo, it is a city that merits the work of Ancestral Lineage Healing.

We respect that this gathering is taking place in Italian and Sicilian-speaking lands, and we aim to gather in ways that are culturally humble, honoring of the land, and truly inclusive.
Although the gathering will be taught in English, we are able to make live whisper translation available in Italian for participants who need this to participate, and one of our dedicated ritual supporters will be an Italian speaker. In this way, we seek for the gathering to be language accessible to Italians, even though it will be useful to speak at least some English.

Retreat Particulars
Applications are currently open for this 5-day residential retreat in Palermo, Sicily from 17th February - 21st February, 2025.
Your investment: The full 5-day residential retreat with Dr. Foor is priced at €2,350 (Euros). This includes the 5-day retreat with Daniel Foor and supporters, 4 nights of private ensuite accommodation at the Grand Hotel Piazza Borsa and 3 delicious meals a day plus teas/coffees and refreshments during the morning and afternoon breaks. Each day locally sourced foods will be available for breakfast, lunch, and a delicious evening meal. All meals include gluten free and vegetarian options.
There are limited cost reduction/scholarship places and several non-residential places reserved for citizens of Palermo or the surrounding area. All scholarship places will be offered on a first come first served basis and subject to approval. You can find more details and instructions on how to apply in the section below.
The residential retreat will start on the afternoon of February 17th when we will meet at 2pm to welcome everyone and commence our work together. We will complete our week on Friday the 21st of February at midday.
Your place on the retreat will only be secured with a non-refundable deposit of €500 (Euros). Once you secure your place, we will send you a registration form to gather further info about you, your reason for attending, your dietary requirements, and more.
A minimum number of 30 retreat participants are required for the retreat to proceed. Please do not make any travel plans until your registration is formally accepted and we confirm in writing that we have reached the minimum number of 30 participants for the retreat to proceed. Souliology, nor the retreat leader, will not be liable for your travel costs should you make bookings before we confirm in writing that we have reached the required numbers as outlined above. However, for your peace of mind, if the retreat is cancelled due to insufficient participation, we will refund you in full for all fees paid to Souliology for the retreat fees only.

Total Retreat Cost: - €2,350 (Euro) per participant (based on single room occupancy) for this 5-day residential retreat - The retreat cost includes the retreat itself with Dr Foor, 4 nights private ensuite accommodation in a luxury boutique hotel and 3 delicious meals a day to include a full breakfast, a light lunch and a delicious evening meal throughout the retreat period. Our retreat location can also cater to a variety of dietary requirements such as vegetarian, gluten free and lactose intolerance.
Retreat Payment Schedule: We are delighted to offer flexibility with our payment options. You have two choices: you can make full payment now of €2,350 (Euro) or you can opt for our convenient payment plan. The payment plan breaks down the cost into three instalments:

Payment 1: €500 (Euro) a non-refundable deposit – (Payable now to be accepted onto the retreat).

Payment 2. €925 (Euro) per person due by the Friday 29th November, 2024. Strictly non-refundable.

Payment 3. €925 (Euro) per person due by the Friday 17th January, 2025. Strictly non-refundable.
If you register for the retreat after the payment deadlines mentioned above, the existing payment schedule will no longer apply. You will be required to either pay an amount that brings you into alignment with the payment plan or pay for the retreat in full.
PLEASE NOTE: A minimum of 30 participants is required for the retreat to proceed. Please hold off on travel plans until we confirm in writing that the participant minimum has been met. Souliology will not be responsible for any travel costs if bookings are made beforehand. If the retreat is cancelled due to low participation, we will refund all retreat fees in full paid to Souliology only.
Partners/Companions: If you wish to attend the retreat with a companion and share accommodation, we offer a reduced fee for both attendees. The total cost for two people to attend the full retreat and share accommodation at the hotel is €4,500.
Additionally, you are welcome to bring a companion who can stay at the hotel with you in shared accommodation, enjoy the set retreat meals but not attend the retreat itself. This option incurs a supplementary cost of €900 for your companion. Please ensure to indicate your preference on the registration form which we will send you after you pay your non-refundable deposit to secure your place.

Children are not allowed to join you in shared accommodation during the retreat.
Scholarship Places:
There are limited cost reduction/scholarship places reserved for citizens of Sicily and mainland Italy whose families and lineages were originally from the Island of Sicily. Scholarship places are offered at €1,750 and you can also avail of the flexible payment terms if you are offered a scholarship place (€500 non-refundable deposit, €625 payment 2 and €625 payment 3).

We have a total of 4 non-residential retreat places to offer residents of Palermo and the surrounding areas only. A Non-Residential place on this retreat entitles you to enjoy the 5-day retreat itself with Dr Foor plus lunch, dinner and refreshments throughout the retreat period plus access to any evening entertainment offered by Souliology throughout the Retreat period. The cost of a non-residential place on this retreat is €1,350.
